These Terms of Use apply to the Unhook mobile application and related services provided by Unhook. By downloading, accessing, or using the application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the application.
Use of the Application
Unhook is an iOS application designed to help users build healthier screen habits by linking app access to real-world habit completion. You may use the application only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works based on the application, except where such restrictions are prohibited by law. All intellectual property rights in the application, including trademarks, software, and content, remain the property of Unhook.
Eligibility and Device Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining access to a compatible iPhone, internet connection, and any software updates required to use the application. Certain features rely on Apple Screen Time, HealthKit, or camera permissions, and some features may not function correctly unless those permissions are granted.
You are also responsible for the security of your device. Jailbreaking, rooting, or otherwise altering operating system protections may interfere with the application and may make some features unavailable.
Habit Verification and Restrictions
Unhook may use timers, step counts, camera-based checks, and other signals to verify whether a habit has been completed. You agree not to misuse or attempt to bypass these verification systems.
App blocking and unlocking behavior depends on Apple's Screen Time and Managed Settings frameworks. Unhook does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free enforcement in every situation, including where Apple system limitations apply.
Third-Party Services
The application relies on third-party services that are governed by their own terms and policies. These services currently include:
- PostHog — product analytics
- RevenueCat — subscription infrastructure
- Expo — application platform
Subscriptions
The application offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and billed to your Apple ID account at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID settings. Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy, and Unhook cannot issue refunds directly.
Availability and Updates
Unhook may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the application at any time. We may also release updates to maintain compatibility, improve performance, or add features. Continued use of the application may require you to install updated versions.
We do not guarantee that the application will always be available, free from bugs, or compatible with every device or operating system version.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unhook provides the application on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or inability to use the application.
This includes, without limitation, issues caused by device failure, connectivity problems, operating system behavior, App Store billing systems, or third-party services integrated into the application.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the application if you violate these Terms or if we decide to discontinue the service. You may stop using the application at any time by uninstalling it from your device.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the application after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
